What does your social media persona say about you?

How easy is it to find out information about you? The first week of my performance course I was partnered up with someone that I knew of, but I didn't know her. In other words, I recognized her face from previous communication lectures however I didn't follow her on social media. Sam Kaye and I had one week to spend less than an hour to look through each others' social media platforms then introduce what we found to the class. Unlike the Netflix original "You", everyone was restricted to stay within the legal terms of online stalking. No incriminating information was allowed to be shared. None of my accounts are on private, so naturally it would be easy for Sam to find out information about me. Since it required minimal online stalking to learn about me, I was curious to see how deep she would dig.

Overall I was very impressed with Sam's report. Everything that she said was true about me. Sam couldn't have framed me better. She mentioned the Syracuse Marathon that I ran in October which is a huge part of my life. I spent 6 months out of the year training for that race. She told the class that my hobby is snowboarding and my favorite artist is Mac Miller. At first those may seem like average characteristics, however I felt touched by the way she presented my interests. I haven't recently posted about my brothers, but through her research she presented on everyone in my family. I would not change Sam's presentation on me.

I feel proud to have a stranger present such an accurate picture of me. That tells me my social media is very genuine. My persona is not a fake image of myself. I post real captions and portray myself in a way that perfectly describes who I am. In the future the only thing I need to change about my online presence is to update the current positions I have in the clubs I'm involved in on Linkedin. Although I am a sophomore in college, I want to post more of my own publications. As a reflection back of my online persona I want more video based content under my name. I can do this through creating more news packages on CitrusTV. I can also start working on writing publications.

Sam briefly mentioned my Youtube Channel. For my Presentational Speaking final I had to create a Vlog about any topic. I created it on all nighters at Syracuse University. At first I thought that only my professor was going to watch it, but I hit over 700 views. It definitely hasn't gone viral, but it is an indication that I should continue to create content for people to watch. Below I am attaching the link to my Vlog.
